What You Can Do in Hypersay Events

Dear Delegate,

Here is a short guide on what you can do once you’re inside the online event.

Say “Hi!”

Take time to say hello to the other delegates, using the chat on the right side of the window. Ask questions, comment on what you see, express your joy and/or opinion. Everyone can see what you write and you can also @mention people. Mentioning one of the organisers will increase the chance of them seeing your message. Enrich your message using emojis.

If you see a chat in a language that you don’t understand please click on the “Translate” button by the line and get it machine-translated for you. Don’t get offended if what you see seems a bit off – sometimes machines can make mistakes.

Talk

Make new friends or get in touch with the old ones. At the bottom of the screen there is a blue bar saying “Front Row”. It is exactly that! The front row is a virtual couch where you can sit with up to five other people and discuss as if you were present during an in-person event. Comment on what’s happening, catch up, gossip, up to you.

Front Row works all the time, even during the sessions. So, find your headphones and use them so that the others don’t get nasty echoes from your speakers.

Check the list of the existing Front Rows to see if you spot anyone interesting and join them. Or create your own – you can invite other delegates directly or wait for them to join you. Find an intriguing name for your Front Row – how about “Beyond Net-Zero” or “Theatre Lovers”?

Psst…. If you do NOT want other people to join, just make your Front Row private. It will not show in the public list and then you’ll decide whom to invite…or whom NOT to invite.

Watch

See the live broadcast in one of the event stages. Quite often, the event is captioned and translated, so you can eat those crisps, watch the event during baby’s nap. Or catch up on what was said, using the “Transcripts” button.

Discover

Explore the buttons on the top of the event. They’ll take you to see the agenda, the list of speakers and the names of the other delegates. Visit the virtual Expo and see what the event partners are up to.

Update your profile

You can also update your profile (top right corner): upload you avatar with a photo of yours, add more detailed information on who you are and even set up language preferences. We use this information in creative ways: i.e. once we know your preferred language you can translate chat messages written in other languages.

Feel good

You will get a great experience with a significantly lower carbon footprint, plus all the time savings of not having to travel. Sit back, relax, chat, talk, and watch. We’re here for you! For any issues, mention @JB team in the chat or write an email to [email protected] and we’ll get back to you.
